Gospel for Life: Just one gospel

Therefore, if the whole of scripture contributes to the revelation of Jesus Christ it is of utmost importance that we understand the gospel. It is urgent that we know the central message God intended to reveal to us through Scripture. If we get this wrong, we get everything else wrong. If we miss this, we miss the point. More importantly, if we muff this one, we forfeit heaven. If we get Christ and his gospel wrong, we are not saved. Paul wanted to make this clear in Galatians when he said: “I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel—not that there is another one…” (Gal. 1:6).There is no other gospel. There is one way to God—and we must not get it wrong. It is by the gospel of Jesus Christ. That’s why the goal of this blog series is to help you understand the gospel as God has revealed it in Scripture. And you will see that a right understanding of the gospel is at the very foundation of a life that pleases God.
